Meet Our 2026 Board
Coming together from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, our skilled team of professionals is the backbone of New Haven Urban Debate League. Their ideas help shape the direction and mission of our organization as it continues to develop. Read on to learn more about some of our incredible team members.

President
Savan Parikh
Yale '28
Savan (he/him) is a sophomore from Guilford, Connecticut in Ezra Stiles college, double-majoring in Architecture and History. In his free time, he likes to play soccer, hike, and do word games. Savan is excited to serve as Co-President of UDL this year!

President
Maya Mufson
Yale '27
Maya is a junior history major and avid stress baker in Morse College. She joined UDL as a summer camp coach in 2024 and has not looked back since! Her exposure to debate was quite limited before university, so the UDL mission is very close to her heart.

Tournament Director
Aster Jin
Yale '28
Aster is a sophomore in Silliman studying molecular, cellular, and developmental biology. Outside of classes, Aster can be found doing neuroscience research or sketching around campus.

Tournament Director
Dashiel Geda
Yale '28
Dashiel is a sophomore in Silliman planning to major in economics and philosophy. He has been doing UDL since high school and his favorite memory was when his team bought, carried, and eventually opened an (unknowingly) rotten durian on a debate trip.

Coaching and Curriculum Director
Ethan Reynolds
Yale '28
Ethan is a sophomore in Trumbull College majoring in Electrical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Ethan previously attended Sound School, participating in NHUDL / ADI for two and a half years. Some things Ethan spends free time doing include building robots, reading, going on walks outside, fixing things, and doing community service.

Coaching and Curriculum Director
Siena Grouf
Yale '29
Siena is a first year in Trumbull college studying Political Science with a certificate in Spanish. She has been debating since 7th grade, and loves to spend her free time facetiming her dog at home, and trying new pastries in the New Haven area!

Hailing from Milford, Connecticut, Ray is a History major. He was lucky to be a part of NHUDL when he was in high school and has enjoyed giving back to his community at Yale. He is also a much smarter person than Maya Mufson.

Travel Tournament Director
Joshua Gabrielson
Yale '28
Joshua is a sophomore in Trumbull College majoring in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. He debated World Schools and Parli in high school, and loves to cook!

Travel Tournament Director
Bedirhan Ozmen
Yale '29

ADI Director
Astrid Harrington
Yale '29
Astrid is a freshman in Pierson College who intends to major in mathematics, but she also loves physics, English, Spanish, and Russian. She debated Public Forum for four years in high school. In her free time, Astrid enjoys playing chess and guitar!

ADI Director
Dennis Jin
Yale '28
Dennis is a sophomore in Ezra Stiles College, studying linguistics with a data science certificate, and a staunch supporter of drinking milk. When told during UDL retreat that "no one drinks milk outside of cereal," Dennis proceeded to drink half a gallon of milk in one sitting. Dennis is also lactose intolerant.
